Designed by Ting-Yan Chen, The Warm House is a stunning example of interior design that prioritizes the residents' needs and creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The house is known for its magnificent atmosphere and abundant sunlight, which adds to its charm and appeal.
The design of The Warm House focuses on the intensification of cozy aesthetics, ensuring that every aspect of the space contributes to a warm and welcoming ambiance. The furniture arrangements follow a harmonious rule, creating a consistent and visually pleasing environment.
One of the unique features of The Warm House is the use of divergent wooden textures. Dark, light, bright, and matte wooden textures are extensively adorned throughout the space, adding depth and warmth to the overall design. The combination of white, burlywood, and black as the main visual elements creates a clean and modern look.
The Warm House is designed to cater to the needs of a growing family. With two small bedrooms of comparable sizes, the design allows for future modifications to accommodate an additional bedroom if needed. The study room is also designed to be easily adaptable, ensuring that the space can be adjusted to meet changing requirements.
One of the design challenges overcome in The Warm House was the visual oppression caused by the beam in the living area. To address this, the designer coated the TV wall and beam with polished materials, reducing the visual impact of the beam and creating a more open and spacious feel.
The Warm House is located in Taichung City, Taiwan, and was completed in February 2018. The design project was led by Ting-Yan Chen, with assistance from Yi-Jou Wen. The exquisite dark wooden grilles used in the transitional spaces between the public and personal areas add artistic charm and create a sense of mood and ambiance.
The Warm House was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding creativity and ingenuity of the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life. The Warm House showcases the best practices in art, science, design, and technology, making it a truly remarkable and inspiring design.
